Upper Hollingdean Road  Phone Mast

Thanks to all those readers of the Fiveways Directory who sent in their comments about the proposal by Vodafone for a base station and phone mast in Upper Hollingdean Road, near to the entrance to the Depot. The overwhelming majority of residents who contacted local councillors are opposed to the plans.

Vodafone have now submitted a formal planning application to the Council for a
" 12.5 metre high replica telegraph pole with 3 antennas, a radio equipment cabinet adjacent to the pole and development works."
Your local councillors will be representing residents' objections to the Planning Committee which is expected to make a decision in mid February.  However, it is important that people who have concerns also send their objections to the Council as soon as possible. These can be sent either by post to :

Chris Swain, Planning Officer
Development Control.
Brighton and Hove City Council
Town Hall, Norton Road, Hove BN3 3BQ
Or by email via the Council's website, www,brighton-hove.gov.uk.  where you can also find more information about this application and advice on how to comment.
Please be sure to quote the Planning Number BH2010/03961

It would also be helpful to local councillors if copies of objections were sent to us c/o  Cllr. Jeane Lepper, Brighton and Hove City Council,  Kings House, Grand Avenue, Hove BN3 2LS, or email jeane.lepper@brighton-hove.gov.uk.
